Our device must be able to distinguish and record multiple fetal heart rates at a time in a clinical environment. The recorded information must also be displayed in a fashion that can be easily interpreted by health care professionals. Additionally, this device must minimize the frequency of repositioning events as well as maximize patient comfort in an effort to preserve the safety of the mother and fetus. Finally, if irregular fetal heart rates are detected, the device must alert the health care professionals monitoring that a potential problem exists with the fetus.
